    Equipment Description

    Product Overview

Chemical Injection Units are specialised systems designed to accurately inject controlled quantities of chemicals into oil and gas production, processing, and pipeline systems. They help maintain operational efficiency, prevent corrosion, reduce scale formation, control hydrate formation, and protect equipment from chemical degradation.

These units are commonly used in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, including offshore platforms, drilling facilities, wellheads, flowlines, pipelines, refineries, and gas-processing plants.

A typical chemical injection package consists of chemical storage tanks, metering pumps, injection quills, pressure gauges, flow meters, filtration components, pressure-relief valves, control instruments, and a skid-mounted structural frame.

Depending on operational requirements, units can be configured for continuous or intermittent injection, with manual, pneumatic, electric, or automated control systems. They can also be designed for hazardous-area installations and harsh offshore environments.

Driscoil Energy Services Limited can use these specifications as a reference when sourcing, marketing, or leasing chemical injection packages to oil and gas operators and service companies.

    Technical Specifications

The following specifications are representative of industrial chemical injection packages. Actual values depend on the manufacturer, chemical properties, and project requirements.

    • Parameter Typical Specification
    • Equipment type Chemical Injection Unit / Chemical Dosing Skid
    • Application Oil and gas production, pipelines, refineries, and gas processing
    • Injection pump type Positive-displacement metering pump
    • Pump options Plunger, diaphragm, or hydraulic diaphragm
    • Injection capacity
    • Approximately 1–500 L/h, depending on configuration
    • Discharge pressure Approximately 50–1,000 bar, model-dependent
    • Chemical storage tank Typically 100–5,000 litres per tank
    • Wetted materials 316/316L stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, or compatible alloys
    • Piping and tubing Stainless steel or chemically compatible materials
    • Instrumentation Pressure gauges, flow meters, level indicators, and pressure transmitters
    • Filtration Chemical-compatible inline filters or strainers
    • Pressure protection Pressure-relief valve and associated protection devices
    • Control system Manual, electric, pneumatic, or PLC-based
    • Power supply Commonly 110–240 V AC or 380–415 V AC, subject to design
    • Installation Skid-mounted, containerised, or platform-integrated
    • Environmental protection Weatherproof enclosure or offshore-rated construction, as specified
    • Hazardous-area compliance ATEX, IECEx, or other applicable certification where required
    • Design standards
    • Applicable API 675, ISO 15156/NACE MR0175, and project specifications, where relevant

Important: These are indicative ranges, not guaranteed specifications for a particular unit. Pump capacity, maximum discharge pressure, materials, and certifications must be verified against the manufacturer's datasheet. API 675 is particularly relevant to controlled-volume metering pumps; it does not, by itself, certify an entire chemical injection package.

    Common Chemical Injection Applications

Chemical injection units can be configured to inject:

    • Corrosion inhibitors: Protect pipelines, vessels, and production equipment against corrosion.
    • Scale inhibitors: Reduce mineral deposits in wells, pipelines, and processing equipment.
    • Demulsifiers: Support the separation of oil and water.
    • Methanol and glycol: Help prevent hydrate formation in gas production and transportation systems.
    • Biocides: Control microbial growth in suitable process systems.
    • Oxygen scavengers: Reduce dissolved oxygen in compatible water-treatment applications.
    • Wax and asphaltene inhibitors: Help manage deposits in production systems.
    • Foam-control chemicals: Reduce unwanted foaming in selected process applications.

The chemical, injection rate, pressure, and wetted materials must be selected for the specific application.

    Key Features and Benefits

    • Accurate dosing: Metering pumps provide controlled chemical delivery.
    • Corrosion protection: Supports the integrity and service life of pipelines and process equipment.
    • Operational efficiency: Helps reduce scale, deposits, and other production-related problems.
    • Flexible configuration: Available in single-pump, dual-pump, and multi-chemical arrangements.
    • Automated monitoring: Optional instruments and PLC controls support monitoring and adjustment.
    • Industrial durability: Materials and enclosures can be selected for demanding operating environments.
    • Maintenance accessibility: Skid-mounted designs can simplify inspection and servicing.

Chemical Injection Units for Sale and Lease

Driscoil Energy Services Limited supports the sourcing, sale, and leasing of chemical injection units for oil and gas production, pipeline operations, offshore facilities, and industrial processing plants. These systems are designed to deliver controlled chemical dosing for corrosion inhibition, scale prevention, hydrate management, and other production-treatment applications. Equipment selection is based on required injection capacity, operating pressure, chemical compatibility, instrumentation, and project specifications.
